Butterfly Garden in the Sun 2021

Developing the previous version of this garden in 2020, it is redesigned and reinstalled on an occasion of the cultural event at the Kwasan Observatory, Kyoto University. This time, visitors put the butterfly-shaped spectral filters on the arches that indicate the Sun’s magnetic field lines. Through these butterflies and the white circular tables/benches on the ground, visitors can appreciate the colors of the solar spectrum as well as the Kwasan’s pleasant environment. It is a poetic transformation of the hidden beauty of the Sun.
